Displaying Your Prices

0

An exhibitor has just asked if he should display the price of his products, on his exhibition stand. This is a good question.

In terms of the Consumer Protection Act, if you are offering goods for sale on your stand (retailing), then you must display your prices. Several National retailers have already been taken to task for failing to display prices, or prices were incorrect, or differed from those advertised.

Exhibitions are a highly competitive environment and you might not necessarily, want your competitors to know your selling price. Meanwhile, the visitor needs to know your prices, so that he can compare it with similar products on other stands.

Whether you display your prices, totally depends on your exhibition objectives. If you are looking for agents, distributors or any other trade objective, then you don’t have to display your prices, as they would be subject to negotiation. You are not retailing, you are marketing.
